Witty, he owned the funeral home until 1956 when his son, Erle C. "Brud" Witty took over. Brud sold the funeral home to James F. O'Connor on January 1, 1976. On October 13, 2004, Jim sold to Jeffrey G. Cole, the current Director and lifelong resident of Orange.
