About

GoldenRod Fishing Charters, LLC. is a complete inshore and offshore fishing guide service operating from Panama City Beach / 30A to Apalachicola. We specialize in family-oriented fishing trips. Capt. Jason Whitfield has over 25 years of experience taking people fishing and he has spent countless days training Capt. Matthew Lewis. They can target fish for snapper, grouper, tarpon, amberjack, sharks, mackerel, triggerfish, redfish, trout, beeliners, and more. You'll love our light tackle and the private artificial reefs we've been building for decades. Our fast boats equipped with the best electronics mean that you'll get more time fishing and more family fun.

GoldenRod Fishing Charters, LLC. is owned and managed by Captain Jason Whitfield and his wife, Kimberly Davis Whitfield. Both Jason and Kim are third generation members of families entrenched in the fishing industry. Jason grew up commercial fishing with his dad, Capt. Mike Whitfield, and Kim grew up fishing when she could on Captain Davis Queen Fleet headboats owned by her dad, Grover Davis, and his brothers, "Duck," and Joe Ed. One of our family traditions is private artificial reef building. The Davis brothers started reef building in the 1950s and Jason has been continuing the tradition for over two decades now. As for Capt. Matthew Lewis, over the last 15 years his enthusiasm for fishing has landed him onboard most every Whitfield fishing trip. We know where and how to fish!
