My practice has been built upon the belief in the resilience of the human spirit. Humans are remarkably skilled at learning how to adapt to overwhelming stress. "Survival" necessitates a disconnect from our body, heart and mind. Allowing narratives to unfold, within a safe relational dyad, can invite a journey back to the Self within. While I have a special interest, and heart for, working with those who have been deeply hurt, I also welcome couples who are struggling to live in harmony with one another or those who want to rekindle a "passion" for living life together in real, authentic partnership.
I offer an approach that seeks to address the unique needs of the "whole" person - body, mind, & for some - spirit. The attitude and practice of integrative psychotherapy affirms the inherent value of each individual and draws from a number of complementary and alternative healing practices that can allow us to live fully, courageously - in the present.
I have been very intentional in creating a space for those who are hurting to imagine a place that is "safe enough" to begin the journey back to Self, a place to remember (or perhaps learn for the first time) how to live fully in a relaxed body state, connect deeply with others, and dare to believe that life can be filled with possibilities!
