Corey Sheahan, MD, is an anesthesiologist at the University of Vermont Medical Center. As a pain management physician, his clinical interests include chronic and acute pain. He specializes in minimally invasive spine procedures, steroid injections, thermal radiofrequency ablations and cooled radiofrequency ablations. He often cares for chronic lower back pain, chronic neck pain, radicular pain, postsurgical pain, joint pain, complex regional pain syndrome, peripheral neuropathies and headaches.  

Pain is a complex universal human experience that manifests itself in a unique manner for every patient. Dr. Sheahan strives to ensure each individual patient has ample time and opportunity to express their problem and to feel their concerns are listened to, understood and respected. His goal with every patient is to utilize a variety of pain management strategies to improve their quality of life. 

Dr. Sheahan is also an assistant professor of anesthesiology for UVM’s Larner College of Medicine. His research interests include joint ablation and minimally invasive spine procedures.
