Founded in 1991 by Florida Licensed Psychologist Gregory L. Garamoni, Ph.D., Ponte Vedra Psychologists is a well-established and well-respected private practice that provides scientifically-tested and solution-focused therapy, counseling, and testing services for children, adolescents, and adults living in Ponte Vedra Beach and the neighboring communities of Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville, Orange Park, Nocatee, Palm Valley, and St. Augustine.
Specialities include marriage counseling (couples therapy); sex therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for stress, depression, anxiety, and anger; grief counseling; psychoeducational evaluations; and gifted IQ assessments.
Dr. Garamoni is an exceptionally well-trained and highly experienced clinical psychologist. He has a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) – the highest educational level a therapist can achieve. He is a clinical psychologist: Among all health care practitioners, clinical psychologists have the highest level of expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating emotional/behavioral health problems. He received doctoral and postdoctoral training at one of the world's top universities in psychology and psychiatry (University of Pittsburgh was ranked "World's Best" in this field by US News & World Report 2016). Dr. Garamoni draws on 33+ years of clinical experience, including 25 years in private practice in Ponte Vedra Beach.
Dr. Garamoni also has extensive experience in corporate and academic settings. He held professional and executive positions in major corporations (Citibank, GTE Sylvania, PepsiCo). He authored peer-reviewed articles in leading journals on depression, anxiety, stress, sexual disorders, and cognitive therapy. He has delivered presentations to national, state and local organizations of psychologists. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses.
