I choose to become a nurse practitioner as I have always had a passion for taking care of others and making a difference. I started in the healthcare field at the age of 17 years old working as a medical assistant, and have worked my way up from a certified nursing assistant (CNA) to a registered nurse (RN), and now a family nurse practitioner (FNP). I have worked in several fields of nursing, from correctional, skilled nursing facilities, psychiatric inpatient and outpatient, med-surge in the hospital, and was a clinical nurse instructor for Eastern Arizona College. Since I have had my FNP, I have worked in endocrinology and primary care clinics. I enjoy being able to provide patient-centered care and to see the difference that I have made in my patients' health. I am eager to continue to apply my skills with evidence-based practice techniques and to continue to broaden my scope of practice. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling with my husband. I also enjoy spending time with my two fur babies (cats), my sulcata tortoise, and, of course, my family and friends. I am new to the Raleigh area, and I am excited to explore the outdoors. I am a native Arizonian, and I am looking forward to the change in climate.
