About

Manuel de Jesús Arbo, M.D., is an Infectious Disease Physician at Rapid City Hospital. He obtained his medical degree from the Facultad de Ciencias Médicas, Universidad Nacional de Asunción, Paraguay. He then had extensive postgraduate training in US programs including a Master of Public Health degree from University of Pittsburgh and a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Tufts University in Boston.

As a board-certified physician, Dr. Arbo has been in practice in Rapid City for nearly 20 years, both at the hospital and in-clinic. He has now accepted a part-time position at Rapid City Hospital and has discontinued his clinic. For the past 18 years he was very involved in teaching the younger generation of physicians at the Family Medicine Residency program both at the hospital and at the HIV clinic, which is the only dedicated clinic for HIV care in the city. He contributed significantly to develop this teaching clinic, and his work was recognized by the Residents with the Teacher of the Year award on two occasions.

Dr. Arbo's approach to patients has always been based on giving them full attention and all the time they need without being distracted by the noise or pressure that may be found in current modern medical practice.

Now that he has a part-time position, he dedicates more attention to his other two life passions, classical guitar and the restoration of a vintage car.
