Dr. Chin was born in the Bronx to Asian American parents. As they were living with her grandparents, uncle, aunt, and cousins, her parents moved her and her sister to New Rochelle. She went to public school and participated in band, chorus, and theater. She worked at her Dad’s store on the weekends and when she was older she lifeguarded in the summers when she was not at Aaron Copeland Music and Arts Summer Camp. (Fun fact: She touched the Oscar award he won for the Heiress!) Dr. Chin went to NYU for undergrad and medical school. Her mentor at NYU had just finished her MFM fellowship at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital, and highly recommended it. Dr. Chin moved here in 1996 and has been here ever since. Her first job out of residency was at the Canandaigua Medical Group affiliated with FF Thompson Hospital. She was recruited to Unity Hospital in 2003. Additionally, Dr. Chin has been recognized by the Surgical Review Corporation Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology (COEMIG) designated physician and Master Surgeon in Minimally Invasive Gynecology, a demonstration of her expertise in minimally invasive surgical approaches for women. She lives in Brighton with her wife and 2 kids.
