About Robert Smith
Originally from Houston, State General Agent Robert Smith joined American Income Life Insurance Company (AIL) in 1998. He later left to work as a sales manager for a large computer distributor but rejoined AIL in 2015. “If I could restart my career with AIL, I would have started earlier and handled many things with much more care. But that comes with wisdom. Learning is part of the amazing journey, so I would certainly have done it better. Now I always give 100 percent … no matter what!

“Achieving SGA level within two years of starting with the Company is my greatest accomplishment with AIL,” adds Robert, “and building lasting relationships with many groups and unions. Located near the Capitol, our team has the opportunity to be involved in local communities within DC and Maryland. We’ll protect people and educate them with our products to ensure their families are always in a better place when we leave.
“Although not active in community activities yet,” continues Robert, “we support the Ronald McDonald House, because my niece has battled cancer for many years. RMH has helped make her and her family comfortable through this trying time. Going forward, our team also will participate in activities that further the cause of labor in the Maryland and DC area. We already have a food bank and collect donations from most homes we visit. Plus, we offer an amazing career opportunity to anyone interested in work worth doing.”
Free time for Robert means fishing, hunting, golf, travel, reading, and camping. “And I am a thrill seeker with a need for speed,” says Robert. Could there be a Harley in his future?
