Here is what Coach McDonald had to say about her! The Ruston Cheer team took 4th place at Nationals! What a great year! “Sophia is a four year member of Ruston High Cheer and also a four year member of Ruston Competition Cheer. During her time on Ruston Cheer she is a 4 time All American and has been a constant leader on the team. Along with cheer, Sophia is also a four year member of the Ruston Track and Field Team and is a member of the Talented Art program at Ruston High as well.” Congratulations Sophia on your leadership on the Cheer team as well as track and Art!! Our female Kim Dupree State Farm May Athlete of the month for Indoor Track and Field is T’Avion Clark! Here is what Coach Smith had to say about her! “Today, I’m proud to recognize T’Avion Clark as our May Kim Dupree State Farm Athlete of the Month for Indoor Track and Field—a title she’s earned through hard work, heart, and consistency. T’Avion delivered a phenomenal performance at the 5A state meet, placing fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.34 seconds. That race takes not only speed but mental toughness, and she showed both every step of the way. She also clocked an indoor personal best of 7.90 seconds in the 60-meter dash—proof of her growth and versatility as a sprinter. In addition to her individual accomplishments, T’Avion was a key part of our 4x400-meter relay team, helping them earn a spot at state—a testament to her strength as both a competitor and a teammate. T’Avion brings focus and resilience to every practice and every race. She leads by example and pushes herself and those around her to be better. We’re incredibly proud of all she’s achieved and can’t wait to see what’s next. Congratulations, T’Avion—you’ve earned this.” What great accomplishments! Such a great year! Congratulations goes out to our male Kim Dupree State Farm Athlete of the month for January 2024, Kameron Dobbins! Here is what his coach had to say about Kameron: "Kameron Dobbins has been selected as the Kim Dupree State Farm Athlete of the Month for January 2024. Dobbins competed on the powerlifting team in his junior and senior years. He brings a strong work ethic and leadership to his team. He often worked out at 6:00 AM during the summer to avoid missing workouts due to other commitments. Dobbins has qualified for the State Powerlifting Championship both in 2023 and 2024. This season he has had a strong showing in invitational meets and at the North Regional Championship where he placed third in his weight class. Dobbins moved up weight classes going into his senior year. He competes in the 123 weight class and is ranked 8th in Division 1 going into the State Championship. Dobbins has posted a total of 905 pounds (squat, bench and deadlift) which is an increase of 130 pounds where he started the powerlifting season. We wish Dobbins and his team the best of luck this weekend, March 23rd at the Powerlifting State Championship!" Congratulations, Kameron for your hard work! Good luck Powerlifting team at state!

Congratulations to our Easter Coloring Contest winner, Lili Grace!! She did amazing on her coloring. She won a Barbie Easter Basket and a $25 Walmart gift card so she can shop for herself!
