Functional lifestyle medicine physician and OB/GYN Teresa Diaz, MD, is the founder and CEO of Orgasmic Medicine, Inc. in Sacramento, California. Dr. Diaz is also a health coach and specializes in helping her patients lead a disease-prevention lifestyle. She believes that desire is a powerful force for healing and can help people create a vital, healthy, turned-on life for themselves.Dr. Diaz attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry at Rutgers in New Jersey. She then completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Connecticut in Farmington. Her first role after completing her residency was as a women’s health care physician and surgeon at the Alameda County Medical Center in Alameda, California, and she gained valuable experience during her eight years there.
Dr. Diaz is also certified by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Francisco State University, and is a certified Orgasmic Meditation Desire and Intimacy Coach.
As her interest in lifestyle medicine grew over time, Dr. Diaz started to specialize in treating chronic conditions such as menopause, decreased libido, stress and anxiety, thyroid disorders, autoimmune diseases, leaky gut, diabetes, and irritable bowel syndrome.
As a functional lifestyle medicine specialist, Dr. Diaz takes a holistic view of each patient’s health and well-being. She prepares customized health programs based on an individual’s goals as well as the results of examinations and diagnostic testing. Dr. Diaz also conveniently offers telemedicine via videoconferencing as well as in-office visits, so all patients have access to her treatment and care.
