Dr. Carey specializes in pediatric psychology at Johns Hopkins All Children’s. She joined the hospital staff in 2025. She provides evaluations of patients for needs related to autism spectrum disorder, attention disorders such as ADHD (attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder), and learning disabilities.
Her research interests encompass developmental and performance-based personality assessment, with a focus on understanding nuanced differences in the presentation of autism across genders.
Dr. Carey earned her doctorate in clinical psychology with an emphasis on clinical child and adolescent psychology from Adler University in Chicago. She completed a doctoral internship at Central Regional Hospital and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She then completed a fellowship in pediatric psychology at Children’s Health Academic Medical Center in Dallas.
