Nathan D. Hatton, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah School Of Medicine. He grew up in a small Indiana community before completing his undergraduate education at Hanover College. He subsequently attended Indiana University where he obtained a masters degree in physiology and biophysics prior to attending medical school. He received his medical degree from Indiana University prior to moving to Utah for his training in Internal Medicine at University Of Utah. He completed a Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine fellowship at the University of Utah. Upon completion of his fellowship he joined the faculty at the University of Utah in 2009.He currently serves as the Associate Medical Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the University Hospital. His current hospital based responsibilities include attending in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at University Hospital and focusing on housestaff and nursing education. His outpatient clinical care focuses on general pulmonary diseases along with patients with pulmonary hypertension. He is also very active in the University of Utah’s systemic sclerosis (scleroderma) clinic and the associated auto-immune lung diseases. He also directs the second year medical student pulmonary medicine curriculum.
