Dr. Gibson is a Utah native. She attended Rice University where she earned her BA in biology and then received her MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. At that point she returned to Utah where she completed her residency training in Neurology, in her last year she was nominated a co-chief. During her residency she developed a strong research and clinical interest in ALS and other neuromuscular diseases. After completion of her residency she was elected as the first Petajan neurophysiology fellowship recipient at the University of Utah, and completed a year of training primarily focused in EMG. She has published numerous studies on ALS and other neuromuscular diseases, and is actively involved in a wide range of genetic and clinical trial research. Despite her focused interest in ALS, she enjoys treating and managing a broad range of neurological conditions, and has an outreach general neurology clinic in Park City, UT (Redstone) and in Jackson Hole, WY (St. John`s Hospital).
