Joseph Gitt, MD, is a board certified family medicine physician at Intermountain Health's Memorial Clinic in Salt Lake City, Utah in the Sugar House neighborhood. He is dedicated to building strong, trusting relationships with his patients and believes that good medicine starts with understanding each person's unique story. He treats hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity and metabolic syndrome, mood disorders, and more, and performs procedures such as Nexplanon and IUD placement and removal, large joint injections, trigger finger injections, minor skin procedures, and skin cryotherapy for precancerous and benign lesions.
Dr. Gitt takes time to listen carefully and learn about his patients' concerns, health history, and personal goals. From there, he works collaboratively with each patient to develop a thoughtful, evidence-based care plan that may include lifestyle changes, preventive care, and medication options. His approach is thorough and proactive, helping patients stay ahead of potential health concerns while ensuring they feel heard, supported, and confident in their care.
He creates a welcoming space where patients feel comfortable asking questions and gaining a clear understanding of their diagnosis and treatment options. His goal is to empower patients to make informed decisions about their health together.
Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Gitt moved to Utah in 2021. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys trail and road running, cross-country and downhill skiing, road and gravel cycling, hiking, reading sci-fi and fantasy, and tackling home improvement projects.
