Gaia Contemporary was established in 2021 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Santa Fe is the largest art market in the United States after New York, and per-capita, the largest art market in the world. Located in the heart of the art historical district, Gaia Contemporary focuses on sculpture, painting, jewelry, photography, art furniture, and Japanese antiquities. The founders of the gallery, an American lawyer and his Japanese wife, have a deep cultural interest in Japan and divide their time between Santa Fe and Tokyo. Their affinity for Western aesthetics and Japanese minimalism was the motivation for launching the gallery. Through the interweaving of these two cultures, Gaia Contemporary offers a unique and fresh vision.
