Voorhees Law Firm offers representation for victims of car accidents, motorcycle accidents, truck accidents, pedestrian accidents, and other cases involving auto accidents. Scott Voorhees advocates aggressively to seek the best financial compensation for the losses suffered by accident victims, focusing on proving third-party negligence and holding that entity accountable. Mr. Voorhees builds a strong case after conducting an in-depth investigation, collecting witness statements to support the injury claim and assessing the full extent of the clients injuries. His aim is to help clients ease back into their daily routine and focus on rebuilding their lives while he does all the work to obtain a favorable outcome. Ms. Hoden received her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science at the University of New Mexico in 1994. She then attended law school in San Diego, California at California Western School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree in 1999. Ms. Hoden has been practicing law since 1999 in the areas of personal injury and is licensed to practice law in California, Colorado and New Mexico. After practicing law in Denver, Colorado and San Diego, California, Ms. Hoden returned to her beloved New Mexico to practice law in early 2007. Over the course of the last twenty plus years, Ms. Hoden has had extensive practice in dealing with insurance companies. In the past, she has been legal counsel at insurance defense firms and most recently was in-house counsel for a major insurance company for close to ten years. This background provides Ms. Hoden with particularized knowledge in terms of how insurance companies think and treat personal injury claims/cases. This in depth understanding allows Ms. Hoden the ability to negotiate from a position of strength and the ability to identify potential weaknesses in a case from an insurance company perspective so she can determine the best manner in which to overcome them. Over the years of working for an insurance company and/or having insurance companies as clients, Ms. Hoden has seen practices that are unfair to claimants and Plaintiffs. Her desire to help people, as opposed to corporations, drove her to leave defense work to represent injured parties instead. Ms. Hoden has joined Voorhees Law Firm, P.C. to have this opportunity to do so. Ms. Hoden is a compassionate advocate who prides herself on having strong client communication skills and relationships, as well as spending the time to explain the process so her clients have a full understanding of what to expect. Ms. Hoden has handled hundreds of litigated cases, which entail taking depositions of parties, witnesses and experts, conducting written discovery, and attending mediations, arbitrations and trial. Although most cases result in settlement, Ms. Hoden has had plenty of trial experience both in California and New Mexico with successful outcomes. Ms. Hoden is happy to advocate for her personal injury clients and go to trial should the insurance company fail to provide a fair and reasonable settlement. In her free time, Ms. Hoden enjoys spending time with her daughter, Phaedra, cooking gourmet meals, as well as enjoys playing the guitar and singing.
