Dr. Tobias Mattei treats adult patients with injuries and deformities of the spine, including spinal tumors, spinal fractures and scoliosis. He performs complex spine surgery, spinal cord stimulation, vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty, and artificial disc replacement. He uses state-of-the-art technology for treatment of degenerative and traumatic spinal disorders, with a special focus on minimally invasive techniques for faster recovery and reduced pain following surgery.
His research interests include development of new biomedical devices related to spine surgery.
Dr. Mattei is an associate professor and chief of spine surgery in the Department of Surgery, Division of Neurosurgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
