Yulene Developmental Consulting is a pediatric occupational therapy practice in Sugar Land, Texas, founded by Yulene Broussard, MS, OTR/L, a highly experienced practitioner with over 20 years of expertise in helping children with developmental challenges.
Yulene received her bachelor’s degree at Chang Gung University in the Guishan District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. She later served as a pediatric occupational therapist at Whole Child Developmental Center in Taipei, Taiwan, and Kaohsiung Rehabilitation Clinic in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Yulene eventually relocated to the United States and became a pediatric occupational therapist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She also obtained her master’s degree from Ohio State University in Columbus. Passionate about providing quality occupational, physical, and speech therapy to children with special needs, she founded Yulene Consulting PLLC.
At the practice, Yulene offers evidence-based parent coaching services that help parents and caregivers better understand their child's behaviors through a polyvagal lens, understanding that behaviors and actions are automatic and adaptive. She takes a holistic approach to therapy and considers various factors, such as a child's sensory processing abilities, nervous system, reflexes, and environment, to understand the child's unique needs.
She offers a hybrid model of online and in-person sessions for self-pay, noninsurance-based clients. Yulene also works closely with the child's therapy team to unlock their potential and promote love, connection, happiness, and learning for all.
Yulene has trained under various industry leaders in pediatric occupational therapy, including Dr. Lucy Jane Miller, founder of the STAR Institute, and Sonia Sumar, founder and director of Yoga for the Special Child. She specializes in several effective strategies, such as DIRFloortime® and Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI).
