Urgent: We have snakes in the office!! Today is National Reptile Awareness Day! This occasion highlights the vital role reptiles play in our ecosystem and aims to increase awareness about the challenges they face. Our team member, Josh, kindly brought in two of his cold-blooded companions today. Meet Quetz, the Mexican Black Kingsnake, who measures about 3 feet long. Josh acquired him from a breeder in Daytona. Kingsnakes are known for their hunting prowess, preying on various snakes, including venomous species. Then there's Bean, the brown Children's Python. This dwarf python species hails from Australia and is also around 3 feet long. They typically reside in small trees or on fence posts, where they hunt for lizards, small mammals, and even tiny birds. It's essential to understand and appreciate reptiles for their conservation and the overall health of our ecosystem. Whether through volunteering with conservation groups or spreading awareness on social media, everyone can play a part in ensuring their well-being.
