In this video, I will be teaching the solving of simultaneous equations using the elimination method. The aim of this method is to eliminate one of the unknowns by either adding or subtracting the two equations. When the values of two unknowns are needed, two equations need to be formed and solve. This is known as solving simultaneous equations. The two most common ways of solving simultaneous equations algebraically are elimination and substitution.
