Dr. Richard Albrechsten is a primary care physician at Intermountain Health’s North Ogden Clinic in North Ogden, Utah. He supports patients in North Ogden, Ogden, Brigham City, and surrounding communities, providing care in chronic disease management, diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol control, coronary disease, and more. He believes that decisions in his patients' wellness journeys should be guided by the best available evidence and their shared values. He values building trust and continuous relationships with his patients, for the prevention and treatment of disease.
Dr. Albrechsten chose primary care as his practice because it uniquely positions him to attend to physical health, mental/emotional health, and social challenges. He attended Utah State University as an undergraduate, earning a degree in biochemistry. He then received his medical doctorate from the University of Utah School of Medicine and trained in family medicine at Atrium Health Cabarrus Family Medicine in North Carolina.
The Cache Valley native is thrilled to be home practicing medicine in northern Utah. Outside work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, creating, and listening to music, running, cooking, watching basketball (go Aggies!), and enjoying the outdoors.
