Welcome to Dupont Private Health
Jean Ann Beaton, MD, brings wellness-related services to her patients at Dupont Private Health, a concierge medicine practice located in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Beaton’s career in medicine began during her undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska where she graduated with a degree in Biology in 1990. Her innate interest in biology and human physiology led her to spend time in neuropharmacological research resulting in several publications in this area and ultimately leading her to New York to pursue a medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
Dr. Beaton considers her early experience at Mount Sinai to have been transformative. She thoroughly enjoyed her patient care experience across the spectrum of medical and surgical specialties, albeit she was particularly drawn to Internal Medicine. While at Mount Sinai she was recognized for her academic and clinical achievements and received both The James Felt Memorial Prize for Highest Overall Academic Achievement and the Florence J. Oppenheimer Prize for Excellence in Surgery.
After completing her residency at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and obtaining board certification in Internal Medicine in 1998, Dr. Beaton worked as a Biotech Consultant. She considered the experience to be particularly mind-opening as she was able to delve into medical therapeutics and diagnostics. However, Dr. Beaton’s early and true passion for the practice of clinical medicine led her back to Internal Medicine. She practiced as an Internist in both Virginia and Maryland until joining and partnering with the independent GW MFA-affiliated group practice: Kaufman, Greenlee, Wheaton, and Beaton.
Dr. Beaton is increasingly passionate about promoting lifestyle and wellness for her patients. As such, in 2020 along with her partners, she transitioned to a concierge style practice providing the opportunity to spend the necessary time to deliver more comprehensive patient care with a focus on lifestyle and wellness.
In Dr. Beaton’s free time she enjoys cooking with her friends, and her two grown children. She also loves traveling and inspired by her early years in New York City, particularly enjoys city life and all that D.C. has to offer.
