About

I am a mixed medial sculpture artist concentrating on fish art, ski art and local commission work. Primarily I create "off the wall" fresh water, salt water, and fantasy fish sculpture with personality. I recently discovered a passion for skiing and am in the process of developing a line of ski themed relief sculpture that I would like to bring to the market in the next few months. I also enjoy commission work. It challenges me and offers me a chance to increase my knowledge and skills. I also enjoy working with the customer one on one.

My businesses "bread and butter" is a line of different fish species that I create to order. My process varies between pieces but generally I create a pattern, trace it onto wood and cut it out with a jigsaw. I then add 3 dimensional elements with an architectural clay medium to the surface. I use a mixture of acrylic paint and acrylic texture mediums to interpret the fishes unique color and patterns. I sometimes add re-purposed objects like dissembled jewelry, or other decorative do-dads that I have collected to the fishes body. I paint the eyes and make them pop by gluing convex glass cabochons to them, I like use metal washers or recycled bike sprockets for eye sockets. Each piece is a unique work of art so they won't be an exact replica of the one ordered. Turnaround time is between 2-3 weeks.

I am open to new ideas and encourage customers to request or commission me to create a specific fish, or sea creature that I haven't created before.

My ski art is a line of relief sculpture inspired by vintage ski posters and created from wood, architectural clay, acrylic paint, and re-purposed objects. Possible commission work could be incorporating specific ski areas or trails into the pieces.

I sell my artwork at local Vermont craft shows, galleries, and restaurants. My work is currently displayed at The Artists Gallery: Waitsfield, Vt., Grand Isle Artworks: Grand Isle, VT., Just the Place Gallery: St. Albans, VT. And The Blue Paddle Bistro, in South Hero, VT. I have had a few online sales but they have all been to customers who have seen my work at one of these venues.
