S.M. Wilson opened Wilson Picture Frames on Dey Street in Manhattan in 1872. With dedication, pride, and attention to detail, S. M. Wilson created frames for some of New York’s most treasured pictures. Each frame crafted by hand.
S. M. Wilson passed his business down to his son who then sold the business to a man who moved the operation out of Manhattan and made Wilson the first picture frame shop on Long Island.
The business was then sold to Mark Sternberg in the early 1980s. For nearly 40 years, Mr. Sternberg ran the company, expanding the picture framing operations while maintaining the tradition of quality craftsmanship.
In 2016, Mr. Sternberg sold the business to current ownership, still honoring the tradition of quality and customer satisfaction while expanding the business for a whole new generation of corporations, frame shops, museums, educational institutions, and galleries.
Wilson Moulding is growing with the market. We are constantly adding lines and services, utilizing new materials and continuing to explore new ways to display the world.
