I am a gastroenterologist at UNC Health Rex Digestive who is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable, supported, and understood as they navigate their digestive health. I value building strong relationships with my patients, taking the time to listen to their concerns, explain options clearly, and create care plans that fit their lives. I care for the full range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions, with special interests in nutrition, obesity medicine, and quality improvement. I completed advanced training in nutrition through the Nestlé Nutrition Institute and am a board-certified Physician Nutrition Specialist (PNS), as well as board certified in obesity medicine with additional training from the Harvard Blackburn Course in Obesity Medicine. Outside of medicine, I am an avid runner who has completed 14 marathons, including all six of the World Marathon Majors, and I enjoy hiking, scuba diving, and spending time outdoors. I bring the same dedication and perseverance that fuel my athletic pursuits to the care of my patients, with the goal of helping each person live healthier and feel their best.
