Dr. Barbara Buttin is a gynecologic oncologist at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Chicago. She is dedicated to caring for patients with gynecologic malignancies, including ovarian, cervical, uterine, vaginal and vulvar.
Understanding her patients is a priority for Dr. Buttin. In 2018, she suffered a stroke while swimming in a triathlon. That hospitalization led to diagnosis of congenital heart defect. After months of rehab, Dr. Buttin fully recovered. By going through a life-threating diagnosis and treatment, Dr. Buttin can relate better with her cancer patients and the physical and emotional stress they endure.
