Braidwood Pharmacy is one of the oldest pharmacies in Australia still existing in the original premises. It is unclear when the pharmacy started to operate but we are in possession of a dispensing book dating back to 1886 and several artefacts dating back to the early 20th century. So we believe the pharmacy has been in operation for at least 130 years. The pharmacy has had many owners over the years; some for many years and some for short periods. On entering the pharmacy it is worth noting the old leadlight doors with the modern touch of being automatically opening. Inside the front of shop has an old pressed metal ceiling.
