For more than 40 years, Hali rugs have brought quality, comfort and style to Australian homes. 
In 1978, Ian Swart temporarily took over his father’s rug shop in South Yarra, Melbourne, and was inspired by the beauty and artistry in handmade textiles.
Buoyed by his newfound passion, Ian founded Hali a year later. Within 15 years, he had established retail stores across the country, with Hali the principal rug supplier to the David Jones Rug Department.
Today, the business is managed by his children Dan and Rebecca under his guidance. They are their family’s fourth-generation in the industry. Across seven stores, Hali is the largest Australian stockist of modern, transitional and traditional rugs.
The team’s experience resonates throughout an extensive range of products, all made to the highest level of craftsmanship. From generations, for generations.
