Mandaluyong?s remarkable rate of development since the early 80?s established the city as one of the most progressive economic centers in the country. In the past, Mandaluyong would hardly be thought of as the alternative place in which to be. Business tended to concentrate in neighboring areas and for some time, this quiet residential suburb just seemed to passively drift that way. But events that unfolded in the aftermath of the EDSA Revolution in 1986 saw the dawn of a new beginning for Mandaluyong.
