The Motor Vehicle Parts Manufacturers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (MVPMAP) was organized in October 1996 and was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on 06 November 1996, as a non-stock, non-profit organization. The manufacturers joined together for a mutually beneficial purpose in the advent of liberalization, deregulation and privatization, the Philippines' accession to GATT-WTO and the birth of other regional cooperation, such as, ASEAN-CEPT, AICO under AFTA, and the APEC.
