The National Anti-Poverty Commission was created by virtue of Republic Act 8425 or the ?Social Reform and Poverty Alleviation Act? that became effective last June 30, 1998. RA 8425 institutionalizes the processes of the Social Reform Agenda (SRA) in order to sustain its gains. The law also mandates the NAPC to enhance the programs, approaches and strategies to strengthen the partnership between government and the basic sectors.
