Well before joining Medpods Medical Centre Maroochydore, Dr Tim Craven began his career in the Royal Australian Navy. During his time in the service, he completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and served a further five years defence service until he started his General Practice career at Golden Beach Medical Centre, Caloundra where he quickly became “hooked” on the lifestyle and settled on the Sunshine Coast with his family.
Dr Craven continued his service with the Australian Defence Force working as a GP at HMAS Kuttabul Navy Base attending to defence force personnel and working as an after-hours GP in the Navy Base hospital.
Dr Craven joined a large medical centre on the Sunshine Coast and then expanded his practice working in the mining sector undertaking Medical Advisor and General Practitioner positions relating to Occupational Health.
Dr Craven has completed his diving medicine course, aviation medicine course and an occupational health course and Is a Certified Coal Board Medical Advisor.
Dr Craven has an extensive occupational health background and a passion for paediatrics. Patients enjoy Tim’s communication style and his fun nature towards patients and staff. Medpods are proud to have Dr Craven on board due to his significant experience in all facets of general practice and his genuine interest in primary health care.
