About

At SDERA we’re committed to helping build a better world by educating and empowering the youth of today. Our range of evidence-based drug and road safety education resources can be used to deliver age-appropriate content and key messages relating to health, safety and resilience. We also provide face-to-face professional learning designed to better equip educators working with children and young people.

Smart Steps:
The road can be a dangerous place for young children. The Smart Steps road safety program has been specially designed for educators of young children under the age of eight. Facilitating a partnership between educators and parents/carers, it guides young children’s learning and helps them to become safe and independent road users.

Keys for Life:
Young people are consistently over-represented in road crash statistics. Keys for Life is a national award winning comprehensive, evidence based pre-driver program that assists parents, schools and agencies to educate young people about safe road use. It also provides licensing and graduation benefits.

CHAT:
An award winning whole school initiative, Changing Health Acting Together (CHAT) is designed to achieve better health and wellbeing outcomes for the entire school community.

Challenges and Choices Resources:
Available to suit early years, primary and secondary education, Challenges and Choices is our core resilience, drug and road safety education program. A comprehensive teaching and learning resource, the program provides a range of learning activities with age-appropriate content for students K-10.

Professional Learning:
Designed to build the capacity of educators working with children & young people and their parents, SDERA’s range of face-to-face professional learning enables participants to deliver best practice resilience, road safety and drug education programs.
