The Paterson family have owned and operated Gisborne Hardware Mitre 10 since February 1st 1984 and Woodend Hardware Mitre 10 since May 1st 1986. Rob Paterson started in Retail Hardware at McEwans in 1956, as a 15yo until 1984, when he resigned to purchase Gisborne Hardware.By then he had moved his way up to General Manager. The 2 stores are run currently by Rob, wife Ailene and sons Wayne, Graham and Steven and several long time staff members including Jacki Carey at Woodend & Garry Van Orsouw & Greg Hannah at Gisborne.
