Begonnen hat alles am 01. Februar 1978 in Schkeuditz. Herr Werner Rühlemann gründete als Kfz-Elektromechaniker-Meister seine eigene Firma, ohne Mitarbeiter und das in der damaligen DDR, wo es nicht einfach war einer betrieblichen Selbständigkeit nachzugehen.Durch die gute Entwicklung und die vollen Auftragsbücher musste ein größeres Objekt gesucht werden, wo auch Mitarbeiter beschäftigt werden konnten. Somit verlegte Herr Rühlemann 1986 die Werkstatt nach Leipzig / Knautkleeberg in die Fortunabadstraße und stellte die ersten zwei Mitarbeiter ein.
Drei Jahre später, am 01. August 1990, begann die Zusammenarbeit mit den Ford-Werken. Herr Rühlemann bekam den Status Ford-Vertragshändler und aus der Einzelfirma wurde die Autohaus Rühlemann GmbH. Der Autokaufboom in der Wendezeit, insbesondere der vielen Gebrauchtwagen nach der Wiedervereinigung, führten relativ schnell zu einem ständig steigenden Reparaturaufkommen.
