Im Jahre 1908 begann Johann Schmidt mit der gewerbsmäßigen Erzeugung von Betonsteinen im Hof seines Hauses, Laaerstraße, in Korneuburg.Herr Rudolf Riefenthaler gründete 1931 mit seiner Frau Anna Riefenthaler, geb. Schmidt, die Firma Rudolf Riefenthaler, Erzeugung von Betonwaren in Wien 21
Die Produktpalette des Betriebes umfaßt u. a. Betonrohre, Brunnenringe, Schachtringe, Senkgruben, Wasserzisternen, Sickerschächte, Kleinkläranlagen, Wassermesserschächte, Putzschächte, Kabeltröge, Betonplatten, Stufenplatten, Fuchsbauten etc. sowie alle Arten von Sonderanfertigungen.
1987 traten die Söhne Ing. Rudolf Riefenthaler und Ing. Peter Riefenthaler in das Unternehmen ein, um die Betonwerke Riefenthaler OHG auch in Zukunft weiterzuführen. Seit 1991 vertreten diese das Unternehmen selbständig.
