NORMINET, which stands for Northern Mindanao Information Network is a collaborative project among Regional Development Council (RDC-10) member agencies/units with the goal of setting up an Internet domain for Northern Mindanao government and non-governmental organizations. Conceptualized and owned by RDC-10 in 1997, the project took off in 1998 with an initial funding from the Department of Science and Technology, Regional Office 10. A Mail and Web Server was purchased for the project and was co-located in one of the local Internet Service Providers. Currently, NORMINET's servers are maintained by Websprinter Cable Internet.
