The YLAC was conceived to be the younger version of the Ladies of Charity in France which was founded by St. Louise de Marillac under the supervision of St. Vincent de Paul. The purpose of the YLAC then was to tap the more privileged young women of society to reach out to the less fortunate youth deprived of education. Inspired by the Vincentian ideals, Ms. Aurora ?Baby? Quezon, together with Fr. Antonio Gomez, a Vincentian priest, worked hand in hand to organize the YLAC.
