The Pinoy Farmers? Internet is Philippine?s first internet-based extension support system to help modernize Philippine Agriculture. This site is managed by the Open Academy for Philippine Agriculture (OPAPA), a multi-agency partnership involving PhilRice, DA, DOST, IRRI, ICRISAT, USM, PAC, CLSU, ISU, UPOU, PCARRD, ASTI, DA-ITCAF, BPRE, PCC, DA-BAR, PhilScat. It started operations in 2003 and in 2004, it successfully bagged a funding from the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) to implement a 3 year project called the K-AGRINET - or Knowledge Networking for Enterprising Agricultural Communities.
