The School For The Deaf In Iligan was begun by Carl and Charina Haynes because of a need they saw for education of the deaf in Charina?s home town of Iligan. Prior to then she served as principal and head deaf teacher at Family to Family School and Farm on Camiguin Island. It was there that she met Carl who had come to visit his high school classmate who had begun the school.
