Joselito Gutierrez received his B.S. Architecture degree from the University of the Philippines College of Architecture in 1992. He took master units in Urban Planning from the School of Urban and Regional Planning also in U.P. During his undergraduate years, he won numerous awards in student competitions. In his senior year, he collaborated with Reynaldo Ng and Emelito Punsalan on The Redevelopment of the National Museum for their thesis. Upon graduation, their work was featured in an exhibit at the old Museum as well as at the Rizal Library in Cebu . The thesis also generated media attention.
