ALAGAD Party-List was founded in November 1997. Accredited by the COMELEC in the same year representing the urban poor sector, it ran in the first party-list election held in May 1998 and landed 3rd among the successful sectoral parties, obtaining one (1) seat in the 11th Congress (1998-2001).
