Aganlar Boatyard Inc. (a.k.a. Aganlar Tersanesi A.S.) was founded by Erol Agan in early 60' s. Bodrum' s first and today' s biggest boatyard, Aganlar has been established as yacht construction company at the city center near the castle where it is now disco-bar called Yettigari.
As the work potential expanded, Master Colak Erol moved the business to Icmeler as the first occupant in that area in early 70' s and led the others to establish today's biggest wooden yacht industry in the world.
Today, it is a comprehensive full service and also one of the most sophisticated boatyard that is consisted of 1500m2 modernly closed construction area that two 50 m yacht can be build simultaneously, open dry-docking area for approximately 250 yachts. The travelift can hoist up to 40 tons and soon 300 ton capacity one will be in service. Boats up to 270 tons are being hauled in/out by sledges. Moreover, there are two grocery markets, a restaurant and 14 workshops that give service full time as boat refitting, painting, maintenance, wintering and many others with up to date technology that one would expect in a modern industry
