About

The NADF structure is based on a National Chairman who leads the executive committee that is comprised of six regional chairmen, elected by their respective regional members and two national members who are elected nationally. The six regions are Matabeleland, Midlands, Mashonaland A, Mashonaland B, Manicaland and Chipinge. These areas were where the original DMB factories were established.

The aims and objectives of the NADF are to promote, advance and develop the production of milk and dairy products in Zimbabwe and to advance and protect the interests of all sections and categories of producers and by so doing play a pivotal anchor role in the dairy industry in Zimbabwe.

The NADF strives to serve its paid up members in many and varied ways. Some of the main activities are listed below:

Regularly attend regional meetings to maintain contact with members and to establish their needs and make every effort to service these needs
Maintain communication with the major milk buyers to encourage the payment of a viable price for raw milk
Arrange discussion groups, mini field days and field days for all levels of producers
Offer a reference library of popular journals and books covering milk production and milk processing
Maintain contact with local, regional and international institutions to ensure that the Industry stays current
Maintain membership of the International Dairy Federation and the Eastern and Southern African Dairy Association and contact with the Milk Producers Association of South Africa so that our members are included in the international dairy industry
Maintain contact with local agro-industries, Government departments and stakeholders
Play a facilitating role to enhance the efficiency of milk production in Zimbabwe
The industry has a very well developed infrastructure and is both resolute and determined to supply the local market with high quality, nutritious milk based products. In spite of numerous problems that the industry has faced and still does, it is still intact and the potential still exists for re-building.
