Started in 2005 by counsellor Heather Burkinshaw, this service has been operated continuously, and many clients have benefited from the counselling provided. Clients are drawn from Soham, Ely and Newmarket and surrounding areas (Mildenhall, Red Lodge, Fordham, Littleport and Burwell) through self referra to give help for their mental health disorders. Heather offers talking therapy or therapy using the creative arts for adults, or therapeutic play ( play therapy ) using metaphor for children. Clients with issues, such as anxiety, depression, or bipolar requiring support are welcome. CBT ( Cognitive Behavioural Therapy ) is a useful tool, in combating some of the issues outlined Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) panic attacks. Heather is available for relationship or couple counselling.
