The Gosline Insurance Group is the largest, locally owned, independent agency group in Central Maine. We are equipped to meet and service all your insurance needs, and have the resources to provide numerous coverage options and the ability to work with and find carriers who offer those coverages. We intend to maintain a strong local presence in those areas we conduct business with the ability to share expertise in a wide variety insurance coverages. Walter Gosline established our company in Gardiner, Maine in 1955. He had been a life agent for Northwestern Mutual when he decided to open a general lines insurance office. In 1973, Walter hired his son, E. Nelson Gosline who had spent ten years as an insurance adjuster. Nelson introduced Richard L. Goodwin to the agency and they purchased the Gosline Murchie Agency from Walter. In 1996, Kenneth L. Bailey, our partner since 1992 at the Readfield Insurance Agency and G. Nelson Gosline purchased Dick?s stock. Ken is the Treasurer and Administration Manager for our Group with G. Nelson in charge of Marketing and Production for our organization. At present, the company has grown to a staff of forty-five, including five-production personnel. We serve the insurance needs of individuals, families, and businesses through out Maine. Since that time, Vannah Insurance Agency (1996) in Waldoboro, Pease Insurance Agency (2001) in West Rockport, and Quirion Insurance Agency (2003) in Augusta have joined our family. The Richmond Insurance Agency (1996) in Richmond, Kristie Rowell Insurance Services, Inc. (2000) of Hallowell with partner Kristie Rowell, Consolidated Insurance of Maine (2003), R D Johnson Agency (2005) of Bethel with partners Richard and Derri Johnson, and Erickson Bonding and Insurance Associates, Inc. (2007) of Augusta with partners David and Vickey Erickson are the most recent members of the Gosline Insurance Group family.
