Quality Holidays for Single Parents - Small Families Small Families is a holiday company with a difference. Specifically set up to provide single parent family holidays. Our speciality is arranging quality escorted holidays for single parent families. We have been running holidays for single parents since 2002 and have a tried and tested format that has proven to be very popular with our single parents. Travelling alone with young children, especially overseas, can often be a daunting prospect. However, the most common comment we hear from many of our single parents who have previously travelled with the more traditional tour operators, is the feeling of loneliness, (especially in the evenings) and lack of other single adult company in resorts mostly dominated by couples. This won't be an issue with Small Families, you'll never have to be on your own unless you choose to be. Single parent families have always 'drawn the short straw' when it comes to family holidays - Insensitive tour operators and hotels, single parent supplements and other hidden 'extras'. We meet all our families at the departure airport and fly out together,* (by which time, new friendships are usually already in the making), we have a private transfer coach to our hotel. There is no regimentation at all and you are obviously free to do your own thing, although we do find many of our group, spend time together during the day, simply because they've made friends, both adults and children. We generally meet up for a pre-dinner drink before dining together at our reserved tables; dinner is a great social time for the group. Your Small Families host is always on hand to ensure your holiday runs smoothly and any problems are dealt with. *Sometimes your host will already be in the resort, however, you will still be greeted at the main UK airport by a Small Families representative and by your host at the resort airport. (this may not apply if flying from a regional airport). To make the travel experience as comfortable and stress free as possible, we prefer to use scheduled flights. Charters suffer a higher risk of delays and cancellations and many of the flight timings operate at unsocial hours. Scheduled flight timings are generally more social (always important where children are involved), have more legroom and always take priority over charters.
