Served 36 years in the Royal Navy, from 'Junior' to Lieutenant RN. Travelled widely and lived for two and a half years in Malaya and Singapore. Mounted four expeditions into the Arctic in search of evidence from the 1845 Franklin Northwest Passage Expedition. One expedition was solo and, due to conditions spent, the last ten days without food (see my book 'No Earthly Pole'). Served for four years as an independent member on Lincolnshire Police Authority - left appalled by political correctness. One of my books - 'Captain George Vancouver - Northwest Navigator' was nominated for the Mountbatten Maritime Award. My latest book is the first ever biography of Thomas Linley, Junior. The title is - 'England's Lost Mozart'. I am currently working on a book about the early Knights Templar, a book on life in the Royal Navy, an autobiography, and a new look at the mystery of King Arthur.
