Welcome To Bishop's Castle Bed and Breakfast Bank House was built around 1710/1718 so is Queen Anne/ Early Georgian and has all the features of that era - large rooms, sash windows and high ceilings and beautiful oak floors. The house sits centrally in the High Street - just down from the Town Hall and has wonderful views across the roof tops of the medieval town of Bishop's Castle About Us Gerry bought the house in December 2013 and has been enjoying the 18-month process of planning and renovating this untouched property to bring in the modern comforts needed for a boutique B and B. The overall aim has been to provide country house comfort for holidays involving groups with a shared interest whether this be walking, cycling, yoga, art, craft, music, theatre or for wedding parties and family get togethers. Our Services A top notch breakfast is offered together with home baked cakes. We can also provide lunch/ packed lunches and arrange any other catering needed although we would expect most groups will want to make use of the lovely Bishop's Castle pubs and cafes. The renovation has created 5 guest bedrooms on the first floor all with ensuite shower rooms (including one with a roll top bath) and includes a large studio on the 2nd floor which is available for yoga, creative workshops, meetings or just as a great party space. The main entrance from the High Street takes you into a grand entrance hall which is resplendent with a fabulous chandelier and limestone floor. The oak paneled sitting room and large dining room (which seats 16) open out off of the hall – both these rooms have wood burning stoves. The development has been designed on the basis of sustainable tourism. The existing oil boiler was removed and we now have a very beautiful biomass boiler which runs on wood pellets and provides plenty of hot water for the seven bathrooms. Parking On Site We have parking on site and we can arrange transport for groups through the local Dial a Ride service who can take you to the start of a walk, for example (and pick you up from the pub at the end perhaps!)
